It’s become tradition that my nephews pick what Aunt Amy bakes them for their birthday dessert. And I never make the same thing twice, unless upon request. This year, nephew #1 said he wanted something with chocolate and peanut butter. So, I made this amazing Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie.
It got devoured so fast I barely had time to take a picture! And nephew #1 was happy. Mission accomplished!
25 crushed Oreo cookies
4 Tbsp butter, melted
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
1-1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 8 oz tub Cool Whip, thawed
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Crush the cookies. **Milady Note: I always crush Oreos using a rolling pin and a Ziploc bag first and then use the food processor. I still like to see a little bit of cookie. Makes it seem more homemade somehow.**
Pour the melted butter over the top and stir with a fork to combine. Press into a pie pan and bake until set, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool completely.
Beat the peanut butter with the cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add in the Cool Whip and beat until smooth, scraping the sides as needed.
Pour the filling into the crust and even out the top with a knife or spatula. Chill for at least an hour before serving.
