Pecan Cream Cheese Bars

I recently made these bars for a friend of mine for her birthday. They are super simple to make, but pack a big punch…just try to forget about how much powdered sugar is in them! And now she’s going to know—oh no!!! Ha!

Ingredients

1 box yellow cake mix

1 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup butter, melted

3 eggs

1 8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 bag (1 lb) powdered sugar

Directions

Heat oven to 325°F. Lightly grease 13×9- inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. **Milady Note: I greased the pan and then lined the pan with parchment paper. I think this is a great way to bake bars. No fuss.**

In large bowl, stir cake mix, pecans, butter and 1 of the eggs with spoon until well blended. Press mixture in bottom of pan.

In medium bowl, beat remaining 2 eggs, the cream cheese and powdered sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Pour over cake mix base.

Bake 40 minutes or until set. Cool completely on cooling rack. Enjoy!
